Do You Want to Make an Impact in Your Community?
Each year, we rely on hundreds of volunteers to help us make decisions about which community programs will be a good investment of United Way dollars raised during our campaign. These volunteers serve as members of our Visiting Allocation Teams (VAT) and they play a vital role in relationships with our 80+ partner agencies, their clients, and the community.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF VAT MEMBERS INCLUDE:

  • A time commitment of approximately 10 – 12 hours (typically 3 meetings) between late September and early November.
  • Attending and actively participating in agency site visits.
  • Reviewing agency programs
  • Providing input in the development of the team recommendations.

EXPERIENCED LEADERSHIP
Your Allocation Team will be led by an experienced volunteer who will guide you and your fellow members through the process. In addition, United Way staff will provide training and general assistance.

REMINDER!!

Meet & Greet tomorrow (8/16) at 8:30am. Attendance is not required, but we would love to meet you and will be available to answer your questions. In the "new" building - Alice Williams Building Room 206. Orientation is via video and can be found at https://vimeo.com/737935786.
Dear VAT Volunteers,

Thank you again for signing up for VAT 2022. We appreciate your commitment to the United Way of Central Alabama and to the allocations process.

This year, VAT Orientation will be primarily through video. The Orientation video can be accessed on UWCA's Vimeo channel here: https://vimeo.com/737935786. You can view it at your convenience, but please view it before VAT starts in early September.

UWCA staff will be available for meet-and-greets on the original live orientation dates (8/16 and 8/23). You can drop in in-person at UWCA or on Zoom either day if you want to meet the Community Impact staff and/or ask questions about VAT. We would love to meet you, but attendance is totally optional.

Be on the lookout for your VAT agency review packets in early September. VAT teams will begin meeting at the end of September.

We look forward to seeing you soon!

Thank you,
Stephanie Butler
